Education

JoanneEducation is at the core of our congregational history. For the initial 75 years, our Sisters in the United States were involved in the teaching of children from kindergarten through high school in Catholic schools ranging from New Haven CT, to Los Angeles, CA, and many locales in between. This was especially so in the Pittsburgh, PA, region.

Today, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, more than 3,500 students attend primary, elementary, and secondary schools sponsored and/or staffed by our congregation in Brazil. These schools include Colégio de São Miguel Arcanjo, the first co-educational Catholic school in Sao Paulo; Our Lady of Mount Carmel primary school; and the elementary school and secondary schools that make up Colégio Franciscano Pio XII.
