On this first Sunday of Advent, we reflect on HOPE. As we look back on a challenging year, we realize that hope based on wishes or blind optimism fails us when our reality does not meet our expectations – or when our plans differ from God’s plan. Enduring and sustainable hope comes from faith and trust in God’s Providence. The expectant hope of Advent invites us to make more room in lives and hearts for Christ. The extraordinary love that fills this space calls us to compassion, forgiveness, and mercy. We go forward with hope because we know God is with us.
May God bless you on your continued Advent journey. Please join us in prayer today as we ask God to guide us to make more room for Christ in our hearts and lives. How can we share the hope of the Advent season with others – especially those suffering the most from the COVID-19 pandemic and other hardships?
