“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!” (Matthew 21:9) This Palm Sunday, as we enter into Holy Week, may you be blessed with the peace and love of Christ.
Since we rejoice in the Resurrection and our salvation on Sunday, we invite you to join us today in offering up prayers of thanksgiving to God for the gift of extravagant love – Jesus Christ. We also give thanks for our blessings and answered prayers in our earthly lives.
The 40 days of Lent exclude Sundays, as this day of the week is set aside to celebrate Christ’s Resurrection. For our “40 Days of Prayer” observation, our Sisters will continue to pray for intentions received.
|40 Days of Prayer and Reflection|
|Lent is a welcome time for many Christians when we open our hearts to Christ and prepare ourselves to go forward in faith through prayer, reflection and living more simply. Prayer is also a vital part of our Sisters’ spiritual lives, ministry, and mission. Franciscan Prayer is contemplative – opening one’s heart and mind to the presence of God directly and in all creation. As part of our Lenten journey, prayer strengthens our faith and moves us to manifest God’s extravagant love in our own lives. This Lenten season, we invite you to join us in 40 Days of Prayer. We pray that your Lenten journey blesses you with spiritual clarity and a deeper understanding of the love of Christ. May you go forward from this prayerful experience as a witness to God’s extravagant love.|
