Presenters & Staff
Sister Joanne Brazinski, OSF, is a Sister of St. Francis of the Providence of God. She has her M.A. in Franciscan Studies from St. Bonaventure University and is a member of the staff at the Franciscan Spirit and Life Center. Sr. Joanne also does spiritual direction and group facilitation.
Judy Crow is a graduate of Mt. Holyoke College with a degree in philosophy. She began studying Tai Chi Chfuan under Yung Ko Chou in Pittsburgh in 1974. In 1980 she was chosen as one of five to receive training as an instructor. For over 25 years Judy has taught courses through the non-credit department of Community College of Allegheny County. In addition to her own classes, she currently teaches in a variety of senior centers and lifelong learning programs.
Sr. J. Lora Dambroski, OSF, is currently serving her second term as the USA Provincial Minister of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Providence of God. She is also one of the Center's Spiritual Directors and regularly presents seminars and workshops. Her ministry has included retreat work, spiritual direction and group facilitation. Sr. Lora has done advanced studies in spirituality, religious studies and education counseling at Creighton and Duquesne Universities.
Peggy Dutch, MA Th., Ph. D. (Candidate) is a native of western New York where she earned her Masters in Theology from St. Bonaventure University. She has served in parish ministry and is currently writing her dissertation at Duquesne University on: Biblical Sabbath and its Implication for Our Contemporary World.
Sr. Linda Fischer, ASC, is a Sister of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ from Columbia, PA. She has a degree in Theology from Alvernia College and has done further studies in the field of addictions. After many years in educational ministry, Sr. Linda now gives Serenity (Twelve Step) Retreats for both men and women.
MaryAnn Garfold, MS, MA, is a school psychologist with a Masters Degree in Applied Theology and Spirituality from Wheeling Jesuit University. She currently ministers in youth and adult faith formation.
Sr. Patricia Mahoney, OSF, Director of the Franciscan Spirit & Life Center, has an MA in Formative Spirituality from Duquesne University and pastoral care experience in the areas of mental health and addiction. She also does individual as well as group spiritual direction.
Sr. Althea Anne Spencer, OSF is a Sister of St. Francis of the Providence of God. She has a Masters degree in Vocational Education from the University of Pittsburgh and is a certified massage therapist. Her ministry experience includes education, parish ministry, clown ministry and spiritual formation.
Fr. Michael Stumpf, ordained in 2001, is currently Administrator at St. Mary of the Mount Parish. He has a Masters of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Scripture from St. Vincent Seminary.
Rev. Bonnie Thurston, Ph. D, is a widely published author, ordained minister and spiritual director. She wrote her doctoral dissertation on Thomas Merton and is particularly interested in his poetry and inter-religious thought. She was a founding member of the International Thomas Merton Society and served as its third president. She has written more than 20 articles and has given retreats and lectured on Merton throughout the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and Europe.
Sister Maria
Rainaldi, OSF is an Expressive Therapist and works with
the Center. She is a member of the Sisters of St. Francis of the
Providence of God and works with Associates. Her current
ministry is as an Art Therapist in a Senior Care facility.
Sr. Kathy Warren, OSF, is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Rochester, MN. She is currently serving as Project Manager for a documentary film (being produced by St. Anthony Messenger Press) which addresses Muslim-Christian interaction today. She is the author of Daring to Cross the Threshold: Francis of Assisi Encounters Sultan Malek al-Kamil.
Mimi DiGregory is the Center's Office and Dietary Manager.
